Ingvild Melby (born in Norway in 1977) has a background in biology and a Master,s degree in Art History.  Her photography often centers on our relationship with nature. In her work, Ingvild blends elements from dream and reality, combining staged and documentary photography.

Nature often functions as an internal mirror in Ingvild’s photographs, where she simultaneously invites the viewer to use personal memories and imagination to complete the work.  She finds inspiration in art history, mythology, cinema, and Nordic folklore.

Ingvild was selected as a finalist in the 2018 Lensculture Art Photography awards and was named one of Critical Mass top 50 photographers in 2019.
